Our Commitment
Scholara is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We believe every child deserves equal access to quality education, regardless of physical or cognitive differences. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our platform to provide an inclusive learning experience.
Standards
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines provide a framework for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.
Accessibility Features
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements can be accessed and operated using a keyboard alone
- Screen reader support: Meaningful alt text for images, proper heading structure, and ARIA labels for interactive elements
- Color contrast: Text and interactive elements maintain sufficient color contrast ratios
- Responsive design: Content adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels up to 200%
- Clear typography: Readable font sizes and styles with adequate line spacing
- Focus indicators: Visible focus outlines for keyboard navigation
- Descriptive links: Link text clearly describes the destination or purpose
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations:
- Some interactive educational games may have limited screen reader support
- The drawing/art creation tool requires mouse or touch input
- Older PDF worksheets may not be fully accessible
We are actively working to address these limitations and improve accessibility across all features.
